polycistronic mRNA, polycistronic messageмолекула мРНК, кодирующая аминокислотные последовательности более чем одной полипептидной цепи; образуется при транскрипции двух или нескольких соседних генов, входящих в состав одного оперона (см. оперон). Гены, на которых синтезируется П.мРНК, разделены короткими интергенными, некодирующими последовательностями. П.мРНК характерна для прокариотических организмов и вирусов; напр., П.мРНК лактозного оперона E. coli (см. лактозный оперон) кодирует три фермента: β-галактозидазу, галактозидпермеазу и тиогалактозидтрансацетилазу.Толковый биотехнологический словарь.
